Everyone LOVES these Sugar Cookies and they look great on a Cookie Plate!

 1 cup butter, softened
 2 ½ cups flour
 1 ½ cups confectioners' sugar
 1 egg
 1 ½ tsp almond extract
 1 tsp baking soda
 1 tsp cream of tartar
 Snowflake cookie cutter
 Blue and white food coloring and holiday sprinkles
Ingredients for Frosting
  cup soft butter
 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
 1 ½ tsp vanilla
 1 tsp almond extract
 2 tbsp milk
Directions for cookies:

Mix butter, confectioner sugar, egg, and almond extract thoroughly.

Blend in flour, soda and cream of tartar. Cover and chill in refrigerator for 3 hours.

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Divide dough in half, roll each half 3/16 thick on lightly floured cloth.

Cut with snowflake cookie cutter.

Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until light brown.

Directions for frosting:

Blend butter and sugar.

Stir in vanilla and milk and beat until frosting is smooth and consistency.

Frost cookies and sprinkle with holiday sugars and sprinkles.
