The Best Lentil Spaghetti Sauce

Yields1 Serving

 1 ½ cups cooked lentils (follow pkg instructions and add a pinch of salt)
 2 large tomatoes (chopped with juice)
 2 8-oz cans of tomato sauce
 1 tbsp fresh garlic
 ½ cup onion (chopped finely)
 2 tsp garlic (minced)
 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
 2 tbsp Luvafoodie Little Italy Spice blend
 1 tbsp Luvafoodie Garlic and Green Herb Spice
 1 tbsp Olive oil
 Optional serving suggestion: over spaghetti with fresh grated parmesan cheese

Turn stove top to medium heat


Your medium size skillet, add a tbsp olive oil


Add onions and garlic and sauté until onions are soft (turn down heat if garlic starts browning)


Add diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, lentils, balsamic vinegar and the Luvafoodie spice blends to the sauce


Turn down heat to low and simmer 20 min


Put over your favorite pasta with a little fresh parmesan and enjoy!
