Monello is a new upscale Italian restaurant in the Ivy Hotel downtown Minneapolis, MN. The décor is sleek and modern with hues of gray and silver. I tried several dishes when I dined there a couple of months ago. I started out with a Crudo: Sea Urchin- with Smoked Marrow and Apple, interesting flavors and presented beautiful on dish. My first course was Foie Gras Terrine with Marocna Almonds and Fig, two of my favorite things to eat are Foie Gras and Figs, nice sweet and salty combination. Of course next dish had to be a pasta, so I tried a hearty pasta with Mint Campanile with a Lamb Ragout and Eggplant. My main dish was a Halibut with Pancetta, Tarragon and Broccoli Raab. Lastly, finished with a Nasturtium Panna Cotta, which was artfully plated. Monello has a large wine list and interesting cocktails. The service was great and they offer complimentary valet service.
