One of my favorite Italian restaurants is La Grolla located in St. Paul on Selby Ave. They have a quaint beautiful patio filled with flowers and herbs in the summer to enjoy a delicious meal. I recently went to La Grolla to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Some of my favorite dishes I recommend include: Start off with Capesante: a great appetizer that consists of sea scallops wrapped in Angel Hair pasta, deep fried and served with lobster sauce. For salads I like Insalata Isabella: baby greens served with goat cheese, pine nuts, Granny apples, golden raisins, and raspberry vinaigrette. I had a special for Valentine’s which was baked halibut with Italian breadcrumbs. It was very good served with veggies and potatoes. My favorite main course is Cartoccio: linguine pasta tossed with shrimp, calamari, scallops, mussels, clams, tomato, basil and then baked in parchment paper. I love to end my meal with the fresh fruit topped crème brulee. They also have a full bar and nice wine list. La Grolla is open every day.
